BCIT的优势与特别之处
(一) 北美公认高薪水高就业率的理工大学，1960年建立至今已有50年历史
很多UBC、SFU已经拥有学士学位的学生或者新移民都选择 BCIT 作为就业的桥梁； 历年来 BCIT 学生中已经拥有学士学位的占就读率的40%；很多加拿大当地人都排队2，3年才能成功进入；研究调查显示2003年毕业生就业平均起薪 CAD$3,350,合台币约为月薪NT 100,500!!
(二) BCIT与当地企业联系紧密
保证学生第一时间享用到相关行业的硬体与软体设备如 BCIT 和全球第二大电话通讯公司合作提供相关与电信方面有关的项目和培训，在工业运输方面，BCIT 与航空、航海、汽车行业的公司都有很密切的合作，BCIT 有23架飞机（在建设中的新校区 就是为航空航太专业建立的一个新的校区。）加拿大国际开发署、世界银行、亚洲银行的很多项目都由BCIT执行。
(三) 每一门专业课程名额有限，以此保证学生就业和高薪水
(四) BCIT 实行两段式授课模式：专科两年＋本科两年
学生毕业之后可以选择就业也可以继续就读。对于国际学生，先就业可至少提前2年获得移民身份，之后还可 以按照当地学生费用继续深造。
(五) 课程安排严密专业
BCIT 2年大专课程约1900-2100小时，普通大学本科平均600时/年，所以学生既省时又划算。BCIT 所有课程第一年直接进入专业课程学习（和加拿大其它大学课程设置完全不一样），第二年再修文化类课程，使得学生最快速最有效的掌握到最实际 的知识与技能。
(六) 设置专业证照中心
加拿大最有价值的是职业证照，如建筑工程师、机械师、测量师、通用工程师、注册会计师、金融分析师等等，这些行业标准都是BCIT设置，考试中心也都在 BCIT。
(七) 与大学院校结合
BCIT商学院部分专业课程到第三年级都有机会转入SFU就读。
(八) 拥有专业背景的师资
教师都是在相关领域拥有至少10年以上工作经验的精英人士，并且实行小班制授课，所以老师经常带领学生直接前往公司参观实习，很多学生直接被任课老师聘用。
(九) 教材严选，定期更新
